The number follows the required views, scene width, identification need, lighting, obstructions and budget. A site survey prevents both unnecessary cameras and important blind spots.
Can we view CCTV securely from a phone?
Usually, if the selected platform and network design support it. We define authorized users, authentication, device security and the remote-access path so convenience does not create an avoidable exposure.
How long should video be retained?
Retention depends on the business purpose, incident-discovery window, storage capacity and applicable privacy or regulatory requirements. We make the retention choice explicit rather than leaving a product default unchanged.
Can access cards be removed when an employee leaves?
Yes. A central reason to use access control is the ability to revoke or change permissions without collecting physical keys. The offboarding workflow still needs a named owner and timely updates.
